The Galway City Harriers athlete has shown steady progression in recent years, but the 2026 indoor season has marked a significant step forward as she begins to establish herself at senior level.
Moore secured her place on the Irish team through the World Athletics rankings system, having achieved the Athletics Ireland ‘B’ standard and strengthening her position with a series of strong performances throughout the season.
The highlight of her campaign came in January, where she clocked 2:01.21 over 800 metres, breaking the Irish U23 indoor record at the time and moving into the top tier of Irish performers over the distance.
That mark remains her personal best, although the U23 record has since been lowered again later in the season.
Moore has also shown consistency at national level, finishing runner up in the 800 metres at the Irish Indoor Championships for the second consecutive year,
She also picked up a notable victory at the Track and Field Live meeting in Dublin.
Still only 21, Moore’s progress follows a period of setbacks earlier in her career, including injury and health challenges, making her recent rise all the more impressive.
Toruń will mark her senior debut in a green bib, with the Galway athlete set to compete in the women’s 800 metres heats on Friday March 20th.
Arriving in Poland as one of the younger members of the Irish squad, Moore will look to gain valuable experience on the world stage while continuing her rapid progression.
