It’s Friday, and the Diamond League rolls into Paris for the third time in just eight days, following stops in Oslo (June 12th) and Stockholm (June 15th), this rapid-fire stretch continues with another stacked evening of world-class athletics. Two of Ireland’s biggest middle-distance stars are back in action tonight, both having already featured in Diamond League events earlier this month.

Irish Athletes in Action Tonight

🏃‍♂️ Mark English – Men's 800m
⏰ Scheduled for 8.15pm
After a fantastic season that has already seen him break into the sub-1:44 club and feature in the Diamond League in Oslo just eight days, Mark English will be aiming to finish higher than his last outing of 7th, where he clocked the second-fastest time of his life, 1:44.33. He’ll need to be at his sharpest once again in a high-quality field that includes Spain's Mohamed Attaoui (second place in Oslo), Garbiel Tual (fourth in Oslo) and USA's Bryce Hommel and Kenya's Wyclife Kinyamal.

🏃‍♀️ Sarah Healy – Women's 1500m
⏰ Scheduled for 9.50pm
Two weeks ago, Healy powered to victory in the 1500m at the Rome Diamond League, becoming just the third Irish athlete ever to win a Diamond League race, joining the elite club with Rhasidat Adeleke and Ciara Mageean. Since then, she’s competed just once, running the 800m at the British Milers Club Trafford Grand Prix and finishing just 0.01 seconds off her personal best 2:00.86. She returns once again for the women's 1500m race.  She returns to the 1500m event, with a strong field to boot.
